Essences are compounds that exist in different organs of the plant and are called volatile oils due to the evaporation in low temperatures. The Essences are generally colorless but oxidized and darkened in the vicinity of the air. The components of the Essences are usually liquid and in some cases semi-solid and rarely solid, which are insoluble in water and are mainly extracted by steam from the plants. The Essences have very different chemical compositions and very strong odors that are used in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Extraction is the separation of active pharmaceutical ingredients from inactive parts of plant and animal tissues using selective solvents with standard extraction guidelines. Therefore, the products obtained from the plants are called liquid plant extracts, semi-solid or relatively pure powders, and a set of various compounds that can be used for oral and topical use, and are classified as products including marsation, percolation, digestion, brewing And boiling.
